Yet Another "Review My Site" Thread...

Yup, another one. I got annoyed at my old homepage and deleted it. I decided I wanted to do something a little more css-y. Take a look and tell me what you think. Currently only the Home, About Me, and Resume links work.

I can't take credit for the CSS; I just put together the colors and images. I know it's dark, but that was the intent.

Thanks!

I'm not a fan of the flames (especially because they cut off halfway through the page on my notebook). Their quality also leaves something to be desired.

The green header bar also looks out of place.

Other than that, it isn't too bad, but it definitely isn't my style. If you like it though, thats great.

Is this where you got the CSS from? Anyway, I don't like the color scheme >_> The green doesn't fit in anywhere.

Edit: Yeah, set the flames to repeat-x :P

Kill the flames.
Like, right now, before you do anything else. NOW.

Other than that, looks fine-ish.

Relatively simple, uncluttered, to the point. I like it. I like the concept of the flames but yeah, the quality is a little poor. The green also seems odd.

Same as Mike T. I think the only reason the green looks a little out of place is because of the flames, which I suggest dousing .

Otherwise I like it, plus it's my school colors!

Re: Yet Another "Review My Site" Thread...

The flames look awful. Get rid.

Other than that, there seem to be a lot of thick lines, which I personally don't like (the border and between the nav links especially).

The green at the top conflicts with the color scheme and is too dark to have any real good contrast effect (which probably wouldn't look good anyway). I'd either get rid of it or change it to a red/orange hue.

I'd change the title in the corner to white instead of orange.

Could do with some nice gradients to make it look a bit nicer.

Also, a tip: Use lorem ipsum, something from wikipedia, anything that isn't that uniform text. It's impossible to gauge how it will look when the text lines up like that.

Note to self. Leave web design for when you're awake.

Yah, I think I'm gonna try something else. I did this in about 30 minutes at 4AM last night. I just got ****ed at my old one, and deleted it. I'll probably use the same layout, but different colors/images.

@Damien: Yup, that's it. There's a link to it in the source.

Re: Yet Another "Review My Site" Thread...

Try to create your own design, that's the cool thing about CSS that you can be more creative and avoid having lots of limitation in the old html formating style, anyways CSS ain't new anymore since that i will recommend you some sites with CSS pure layout websites www.cssbeauty.com and www.cssvault.com very nice sites some of them have tutorials on CSS and articles about webdesign and stuff, let me know if you like them, cheers!!
