Hey all!
May I first wish you all a Merry Christmas to not just all of you but to your families as well. I hope you enjoy your holiday and your much deserved break from computers and schooling. Every member here has clearly shown a huge development over this year in terms of their ability and maturity and I hope that you all continue to call YC home.
As for YC, I expct big changes to begin rolling in soon. You may notice us go down soon as we switch hosting providers to (mt), this will allow us to move to a VPS with a trusted company when our size permits. Don't expect the forum to remain the same either, expect the software that runs this board (
vB) to be gone and replaced with an application that provides more value for money and a great sense of Web 2.0.
With these changes comes the need to pay the bills, you may see ads pop up next year but do not be alarmed. We will be ensuring these ads are discrete enough to not disrupt our viewing please and I will make sure they suit the target audience. You will also have the oppurtunity to host your site with us for a small fee, expect a pricing announcement soon.
I have already mentioned some big changes but expect them all to have the main focus of the forums and our members; which is why competitions will now have greater rewards (not just credits, but real world items) for your participation to YC.
