HyperStudios

Hey buddies...

I was really bored past 20 minutes so I decided to open some dreamweaver and PS and do something...

I took that time to design something so I was wondering if it is any good...

check it out...

Hyper Studios

I'm just asking so if it's any good I ll code it and convert it to template for joomla or something like that... I mean it's not even close to be done, just wondering if idea is any good :P...

Let me know what you think... Criticism is welcome !

Re: HyperStudios

I like it.

I have only one or two points to make.

The gray background is really nice. But, I don't really like the exact shade. It makes the whole page look a little dull.

Also, the pink/purple might look a little better there was a little more contrast.

I wish I would make things look so good. Curiosity demands me to ask: Where did you learned to design from? Did you just pick it up by yourself, or did you go through some sort of course?

Re: HyperStudios

Not bad, lacks depth, a little flat I think.

Thanks for the replay my old YC friend...

Honestly, I'm kinda weird person when coding or designing...

Mostly, whenever am payed to do some project, often I do it terribly since I'm not motivated or anything, but often it takes 20 minutes to make something look good, it just has to be the right moment.

Past 3 years I've been trying to code different kind of CMS scripts but since I'm obsessed with CSS and some photoshop, I was thinking to spend my time dropping PHP for couple of days and trying to mix some pure CSS/HTML designs...

I know it's kinda old school but it's amazing what you can make by just using those 2...

Simply, I want to "relax" my brain a little and drop all the syntax, libraries and stuff and do something easy and simple... I know it's kinda bad since HTML is not giving you much choices but adding all the material manually but Idk, it's fun :P...

And yea, since am not sure why did I type all that above, I ll answer your question...

This will be more like advice...

When I'm designing something, I m always trying to be different than some standard... I'm a bit sick of all the for examle Joomla, phpbb themes etc...

They all look the same, similar module positions and stuff...
The key is to make something crazy and totally different... I think that's what make our sites unique... I m sure people are bored of seeing same colors, styles etc...

And yes, thanks for the advice about the site...
It was just my quick PS work... Now I ll spend some time to make it good looking

Re: HyperStudios

That looks awesome dude! I have a question though. In your source code it says that there is an area and a map and stuff. I see coordinates too. My question is...how to you where to put those coordinates? Did you use photoshop? Like is it just one simple picture with areas?

Re: HyperStudios

What you do is basically this...

You design something in Photoshop, save it as any extension (JPEG,PNG etc) and save it.

Open Macromedia Dreamweaver, drag the same picture to it and when you click on your picture, in left bottom corner there's a tool where it says "MAP" and next to it there are hotspot tools... You simply just wrap any part of image and assign hyperlink to it...

Pretty easy. If you need any help let me know...

By the way, thanks for the nice comment . I appreciate it

Re: HyperStudios

Oh okay I understand...thanks that is quite simple! But what if your screen resolution is different from some other person's? Does it affect anything?

Re: HyperStudios

If you resize your browser, you'll see that it centers. If it is less that a certain minimum, then the horizontal scrollbar kicks in. But that's how most fluid websites behave anyway, so it's still nice and simple.
