Question Security Programming?

Hey, I am new to this forum, this being my first post. I have basic knowledge of a few different languages, mainly web languages, but now I want to focus on and get into security programming, what language would you suggest is best for this type of programming?

Cheers

Re: Security Programming?

You'll want a compiled language like C or C++.

What kind of security programming?

Re: Security Programming?

Algorithmic programming interests me, but im unsure of what language would be best to learn to then branch off into it.

Re: Security Programming?

C or C++. You definitely need one of those.

Also have a look at Ruby/Python.

Out of Ruby/Python? They're both pretty equal.

Re: Security Programming?

If you're looking to make GUI apps, and you want to choose between C and C++, I've read that more GUIs are geared towards C++ rather than C.

Re: Security Programming?

if it was penetration testing i think C along with asm is used because they are relatively low level languages.
