New iTunes version

New version of iTunes bringing it up to version 7:

New design (yet again) I'm not so sure about this. It's great that apple are trying new things but it just confuses developers. Now I want to nick their PICT resources and put them in my app (subclass NSScroller and NSTableHeaderColumn). But if everybody does that then it spawns yet another UI style which we've got enough of already.

Coverflow Looks like they incorporated the coverflow code into iTunes. For some reason they have taken out features and optimisation because the original coverflow is a heck of a lot faster than theirs!

Source list There's a new source list in there which cleans up the old one nicely. For those with resource editors there are some nice goodies in the .rsrc file

Movies We've had this for ages but now they sell movies in the iTS (iTunes Store not iTunes Music Store iTMS as it was before).

Also new (6G?) iPod, nano and shuffle. Something about an iTV but we'll have to wait until the webcast for more info.

Re: New iTunes version

I hear Jobs could only get rental rights from the movie studios, not keeping rights.

Re: New iTunes version

Well, disney is no problem, he is the biggest shareholder. But yeah, other studios might be harder.

The new iPods are nice, but they are still considered 5G from what I hear... I think it's a nice addition to the iTunes family.
